Description
Brushstroke Mayhem is a fast, color-splashed set-collection card game where you chain brushstrokes, outpaint your rivals, and race to finish your abstract masterpieces. Easy to learn, lively to play, and perfect for quick sessions with friends or family.
How it plays
-
At setup, each player selects a Painting from the Open Market (you’ll gain new ones later).
-
On your turn, lay Brushstroke cards from your hand onto either the Shared Canvas (usable by everyone) or your Personal Canvas.
-
Use those brushstrokes to match the patterns shown on your Painting cards.
-
When you complete a Painting, score it and take a new one. First to finish 3 Paintings wins.
Advanced rules: Add spicy twists with color effects and disruption actions.

Proudly made in Lithuania, the Brushstroke Mayhem card game became the first Lithuanian board game crowdfunded on Gamefound, then debuted to international players at SPIEL Essen. It’s already translated into five languages, opening the table to families and game groups across Europe and beyond. Development was guided by Lithuania’s leading board-game design collective, the Prototype group, whose rigorous playtesting shaped the game’s quick turns, accessible rules, and striking table presence. If you’re looking to support fresh Baltic design, the Brushstroke Mayhem card game is a standout—fast to teach, beautiful to play, and built with community feedback from day one.

I definitely prefer the gameplay for Brushstroke Mayhem to Canvas – there are so many strategies available, and the variants really add depth by being able to have card effects that vary by colour.

Absolutely obsessed with this game’s abstract artwork. The clean lines and bold, eye-catching elements give it such a polished, modern vibe — a perfect example of how an art-themed game can feel artistic and immersive without overcomplicating things.
